Beginning music was a rocky journey for KICKZ. Born out of a need from a traumatic experience in 2017, BOO realised they had to compose and create music to connect with people in similar situations. Although KICKZ had piano lessons from the age of 12, they never took music as a strong career path and used it more as a hobby. When life hit BOO like a tonne of bricks, they did what any creative would do - create. Starting their education at Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire), BOO began their foundational skills in music production with an eagerness to learn as much as possible. After failing to complete the course (2017), KICKZ moved back home and began to work with friends and family to build their life back up. 

2020 came around fast and KICKZ felt that existential dread we all felt. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MYSELF? WHO AM I? 

 

Someone close to them suggested going back to education and that is exactly what they did. Fast track to SEPT 2020 KICKZ started at the University of Salford on their Popular Music and Recording course which erupted BOO's love for the studio, recording and performance!

2023 brought around KICKZ' first single "fig and cassis" which landed on 50+ playlists across the globe. Then it was a constant stream of single releases. With a collaboration with local boys SUPER MARKET, KICKZ featured on "Super Hot" and "Sangria".

2025 KICKZ found themselves collaborating with more artists and attending jam nights across Manchester. "Junk" with Kodak Kid came out this year and that's just the beginning. Sign up to KICKZ List for regular updates on what BOO is getting up to next.
